Katt Williams is one of the throwback comedians to make this list.  Williams’ skit makes a couple of bold claims: almost everyone should smoke weed and that weed isn’t a drug.  Of course, this is meant to be comedy so by no means should you take Katt’s words as fact.  His argument for weed not being a drug is that it’s natural and you can’t overdose on it even though you might think your friend is dead after smoking too much.

Bill Hicks starts off his set by saying how he used to do drugs but has quit.  The irony of this statement is that he’s smoking a cigarette as he makes these claims.  Hicks is a master of timing and patience, letting his words linger one moment and then going on a high-speed rant the next.  He attacks the anti-drug commercials of the late 90’s and the hypocrisy of marijuana being illegal while alcohol and tobacco are commercialized.

Joe Rogan is a standup comedian who also runs a well-known podcast in which he isn’t shy about his marijuana intake.  In his Netflix special “Triggered” he speaks about the science of what makes edibles so potent and a personal story that revolves around said edibles.  After consuming an edible on a fishing trip he has an existential moment where he is astonished by dolphin intelligence and uncovers his own philosophy of consciousness.

Louis C.K. is arguably the funniest comedian alive today.  He has an Emmy Award winning show on Netflix and his standup routines are among the best in the business.  Louis recalls a time when he smoked weed with young fans in a parking lot after one of his shows.  Unbeknownst to him, the weed of today is much stronger than it was during his childhood.  Louis’ words paint a beautiful picture of the awkwardness and anxiety that ensues.
